So, i have had a few days off this summer. For those i haven't talked to over the last few months i thought i would spend a few moments catching up. After leaving SolArc, I took a little time to lean Mac programming (and build and app for eMotionMedia.com.) i also got in a good solid month of home renovation at Dre's house getting it ready to sell. Lately i have finally had a chance to decompress from my 14 year SolArc servitude and do some fun projects for myself What you see here is one of my favs. Its a huge Lego Technic kit that i pulled out of the closet and spent a few weeks assembling. It turned out great and is quite photogenic.

As much as i would love to keep sitting on my butt.... i (and my saving account) decided to start searching for a solid job in early August and got a few offers. I decided to accept one at a local company called F.W. Murphy. I had never heard of them but after meeting with them and seeing what they do it was too good to pass up. I will be doing windows programming once again...this time on a small application (no more big enterprise software for me :) I'm looking forward to starting this week and diving into what looks like a fun but very challenging UI. The team is very small (4 people with me) and i will primarily be doing the UI design/implementation for the software and best of all its NOT in the energy industry.

Its my first new job in years so wish me luck...I'm sure i will need it.

After years of using my old and busted glasses it was time fo ran upgrade. I got a light box for my b-day last month so i figured it was time to pick up the camera and give it try. Sorry i haven't been posting for a while. i was kind of taking a break from things to learn a bit about mac programming and get my bearings. Hopefully now, we can continue our regularly scheduled programming.

Jen's hubby was out of town since before christmas so now that he is back we got to celebrate christmas for the kids. Nothing like a little christmas cheer in february to brighten your day.

This is a show of Makenna's Science Fair project. Its been in my kitchen waiting for me to find a good way to transport it to school next week.

As I was walking around looking for a picture on my first official day of unemployment, i was reminded that we don't have to lift a load alone. There are lots of ways to pull harder. I am lucky that i don't have to move forward alone and have a lot of friends and family pulling too. I have had a lot of people asking me what I'm doing next and wanting to help and be included in what ever venture we figure out. I have a feeling that in a few months from now we will look back and wonder what took us so long.

We celebrated Dre's Birthday. I maybe weird but I really like celebrating birthdays ON someones birthday :) IWe had a nice relaxing dinner at Bonefish and then went home for a Maggie Moo's ice cream cake.

I'm attempting to finish out the living room with some accessories. This is the new block shelf and a blue vase that I am hanging in the living room for another touch of blue.

Dre got me these tools i have been eyeing for years. Can't wait to take something apart.

The new tv arrived safe and sound and i got it on the wall with a little help from a neighbor. Just have to give it some time to break in and get it all adjusted.

Brownies and Mint...yum. Andrea and her daughter made me these yummy snacks for Valentines day. They taste as good as they look.
