OK, I confess. I am one of those weird people that bought the book on the day it came out and started reading. So far...I like it. I read slow so it will probably next weekend before I finish it. So no spoilers.

My TV is almost here. I ordered the new Samsung 1080P DLP TV to replace my current TV. I hope it looks as good as the review indicated. Normally, I don't order TV's online but this case was different. The price was jsut too good to pass up so I am taking the "risk"

Now that my PAD project is over, I am going to try to update the old website more often...we will see how long that lasts.

What could make the story of Jesus and the Apostles better....How about some comic relief and a giant african american that can't sing. Yeah, that should do it.

I just got back from one of the biggest stinkers ever. "The Rock and the Rabbi" It is a rock and roll narrative of the life of Jesus. It wasn't completely bad. The music was OK, and the storyteller was interesting and the musicians were competant but JESUS was terrible. He was totally lacking of any talent. What sucks is that the idea was great. They had this young male caucasian singer with great projection and range playing Simon (Peter) opposite a large african american playing Jesus. They had numerous duets to really show off wth but the Jesus character just couldn't cut it. In theory the combination of tonality should have been awesome.....it wasn't.

Summer Diversions
Wednesday, July 13, 2005

Not much going on these days. I'm just working on various software projects at work and dragging through the hot days of Oklahoma summer. I can't wait until fall and better weather. While I wait, I ordered a new TV. It's the new Samsung HLR6168. It's their first 1080p DLP tv. Looks like it will be the new "hot" tv. It's scheduled to be here in thew next few weeks.

Speaking of ways to pass the summer, if you haven't checked it out already be sure to download the new iTunes 4.9. It makes subscribing to PodCasts as easy as it can possibly be. I am absolutely addicted to This Week In Tech hosted by the former Screen Savers of TechTV. It's almost like the old days but now it's raw and uncensored. If you don't know what PodCasts are ....uh, I teach tech at work, not my website.... so go download iTunes and figure it out.

One other thing I am using to pass the time this summer is....trying to teach Alene to code in C#. It will probably be slow going bases on our experience getting her through Java a couple of years ago but in the end, I bet she will really enjoy it. She seems like she really wants to learn it and had decided is going to use it to create her new web site (rather than just pilfering my old ASP code :).

Also, after a month or so off, I am back picking up the camera so be sure to check out my new Photo a Day Year Two gallery
