Painting still going

The paint process is still ongoing.   The hood has finally been removed and the wall repaired and re-trimmed.   The new hood is ready to go in but will have to wait until the paint is complete.   The painters have started the glazing and it looks pretty good.   I think I may have them go a little lighter on the glaze for the cabinets.   Also the slate tile in the master bedroom is complete.   It turned out really well...can't wait to see it after it is glazed.

I also went to a few of the "Parade of Homes" houses.   I am very glad I got Ryan as a builder.   The other two houses I looked at were no where NEAR as nice as his model house.   Hope mine turns out as well.

Changes

There wasn't a lot of progress this PL36WC50EC.jpgweek.    I decided to change something which caused a bit of a slow down.    After seeing the new custom hood (which I requested) I didn't like it.    I asked for something simple and they built exactly what I asked for but it just came out a bit too plain.    So it's coming out.    In it's place will be stainless chimney style hood.    Unfortunately, that means the walls must be fixed, the cabinets repaired and the area retrimmed.

The only other thing that got done this week was staining the door and stairs and priming the trim.   Next week should get rolling along again.

Painting Time

The house has finally completed the trim phase.   All of the rooms have trim and it looks really good.  The stairs are paneled and my server room is taking on that "Star Trek" looks that it will eventually have when complete.    I dropped off the paint swatches with the painter today and they are going to paint some samples on the walls to make sure we like them.

I also ordered the vessel sink for the downstairs half bath.  It's a blue glass vessel that is kind of round and kind of square.   Should look pretty spiffy when it's all complete.

I think we are in the final stretch.   Only things left to get ordered are the railing for the stairs (it's going to be iron) and the z-wave switches.
