I haven't felt motivated to shoot much since the end of my second year of PAD but I think I finally found the solution.   The Canon 40D.    I don't really NEED an upgrade but I have been wanting this snazzy little number since it was release last September.     Well, I got it this week    I have been just goofing around learning the new features and haven't taken any decent pics  yet.   So far I love the auto-ISO, the huge LCD, the shutter sound and the increased resolution.   I was expecting to like the Live View feature but haven't even used it yet.  Today will be my first day of actually shooting any real images with it so expect to see some pics up in the next day or two.

After shooting a bit, I realized I really want a new lens to pair with it.    Luckily the lens I want is the kit lens for the 5D and the McKays agreed to get the 5D kit and sell me the lens.   They will have to return the 5D body they just purchased but  we will both save a few hundred bucks in the process and I am very grateful.   Ever since our photo shoot with them using their setup, I have been wanting that 24-105 L lens they use.   It's great to use and the images that we got looked amazing.

In other news.... after telling myself I did not need the new Macbook Air, I ended up ordering one....and in typical "jake fashion" canceled my order and re-ordered numerous times before settling on the top end 1.8/SSD version.   Now if Amazon would just ship the darn thing.
